Major investment to support global demand for modular pharmaceutical manufacturing
KeyPlants AB is strengthening its global production capacity through a significant expansion into Götene, Sweden. In response to a recently secured large-scale order and an increasingly strong project pipeline, the company is establishing operations at the Götenehus industrial site under a four-year lease agreement with Forshem Fastigheter.
The new facility will enable KeyPlants to double its current production capacity, supporting the manufacturing of large steel modules used in fast-delivery modular facilities for Life Sciences and Advanced technology industies.
“We have been looking for production space for a long time and quite by chance found the opportunity here in Götene. It is a large project that requires double the capacity of what we have today. After this, an additional two to three major projects are already in the pipeline.”
KeyPlants’ modular approach enables pharmaceutical companies to accelerate time-to-market significantly.
“By building modularly, companies can complete a pharmaceutical facility eight to ten months faster compared with traditional on-site construction,” Sven Lans explains.

The expansion is expected to generate approximately 70 jobs, including 15–20 new positions in Götene. Recruitment efforts are currently focused on assemblers and warehouse personnel. Production is planned to start 1 March 2026.
Local partners emphasize the importance of the initiative for the region.
Anna Hernefrid, CEO of Götenehus, welcomes the development:
“It feels fantastic to bring new activity to the area. We see this as a positive long-term opportunity.” *
Götene’s municipal leadership also highlights its strategic value.
“This is a significant establishment for Götene, equivalent to around 300 jobs in a city the size of Skövde,” says Johan Månsson, Chair of the Municipal Executive Committee. “It is a highly positive injection for the community.” *
