Senior Project Manager

KeyPlants is looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to manage large or several smaller projects in its portfolio of complex projects and lead our teams to success. The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry experience and a proven ability to manage the project phases in fast track, large-scale projects from design to handover.
As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering project scope from engineering to hand-over and operations. You will ensure seamless coordination and optimized project delivery among Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Site Execution, Commissioning, Qualification and Project Controls.
The position will report to Head of Projects and can be based in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö.
- Ensure design, procurement, contracts, and construction (internal and external) meet project requirements and adhere to cost and schedule targets.
- Own and deliver against scope, schedule, and budget within overall project requirements.
- Manage project progress, budget and other performance indicators.
- Track and manage changes.
- Prepare comprehensive project communication materials, including reports.
- Maintain budget control and drive continuous improvement and optimization among stakeholders.
- Compile and present regular performance and budget analyses and progress reports.
- Develop strong relationships within clients and cross-functional teams, effectively resolving any conflicts.
- Mentor and coach team members, conducting periodic performance and compliance assessments.
- Experience:
Minimum of 20 years in the construction industry, with at least 15 years of hands-on project leadership experience in demanding industrial and preferably pharmaceutical environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing EPCC contracts from concept to hand-over.
Experience of managing one or more projects in the range of $10 - 50+ million
Advanced knowledge of contract management, design, construction, and relevant building systems/components
Track record as project manager driving complex projects, covering both planning/designing phase as well as execution and handover phases.
Experience with various the disciplines, trades and systems related with an emphasis on full project delivery
Strong execution and decision-making skills with the ability to make timely decisions and overcome obstacles.
Commercial and contract skills with experience managing contractors and sub suppliers.
- Education: An Engineering degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in Construction Management or a related field, along with relevant trade certifications.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Swedish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Cultural Competence: Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment, with the ability to navigate local constraints.
- Autonomy and Leadership: A motivating and effective leader capable of driving momentum across functions.
- Reliability and Accuracy: Strong synthesis and reporting skills. Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines. Excellent time management skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a first-principles approach to addressing challenges.
- Time Management: Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Stakeholder Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with collaborative spirit.
